Has A Little White Ball On Lacrimal Carbucula Inside Eye, Has Cold. What Is Wrong?

Hello, my 4 year old son has a little white ball on his Lacrimal Carnucula (sp?) in the inside corner of his left eye. Our family has had a cold for the past week or so, and he s not as good at blowing his nose , or coughing out the phlegm ... Could this be a blockage from him not letting his mucus flow? or would it be more of an infection? Is there anything I can do, or will it just pass on its own?
