Has A History MSRA. Got Infected By Bug Bite. Swollen Eye. Looked Infected. Painful. Infection Spread. Is This The Cause For Concern?

My son has a history of MRSA. Two times...one on a toe he almost lost and one from an infected bug bite on his leg. Four days ago, he came downstairs with his righ eye almost swollen shut. He said there was a piece of hair on his eyebrow that looked innfected so he pulled it out. It was initially very painful so we sent him right away to the doctod. They put him on Bactrum DS and we have been doing hot washcloths every two hours for two days. The area is still swollen, he says less painful, but it won t drain. Should we go back to the doctor so they can drain the infection out? He is 17 and very worried that it may be MRSA again. Mrsa causes such a terrible scar too. I am also worried that the infection will spread to his eye bone. He has been on the Bactrum DS for 3 full days. Thanks

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
The organism may be M.R.S.A, or some thing else, or the present organism may be resistant to bactrim.
I advise you to consult the doctor again, so that he will get the culture and sensitivity done and treat the infection accordingly.
Don't worry he will be fine. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
