Hard To Urinate Wearing Tampon. Is It Possible To Have Urinated Inside Vagina?
I noticed today that when my tampon was in it was hard to urinate, it seemed to be a very slow stream and felt as if I didn't fully empty my bladder. When I took out the tampon I noticed it was really wet with only a small amount of blood, I urinated after I removed it and had a normal pee, full stream. Is it possible to have urinated inside my vagina and if so is this bad???
Hi, Vagina and urethra ( passage for urine) are two seperate passages. Vagina connects the external genitalia to the uterus while urethra connects to the urinary bladder. Since they are placed closely in the human body the presence of tampon could have pressed on the urethral tube that caused difficulty in passing urine. As soon as you removed the tampon the pressure was released and hence easy passage of urine. Unless there is an abnormal connection between the 2 it is not possible to pass urine into the vagina. This is either congenital in rare cases or from surgical complications. And in that case you would have had other symptoms. Hope this helps Dr Anjana rao
