Hard Tender Lump Behind The Ear Getting Bigger, Sore Scalp With Fluid Discharge. Need To Be Worried?
I have a hard, tender lump behind my left ear. It doesn't throb or anything but it seems to change size. A few weeks ago it was about the size of a pea and then last week it seemed even smaller and now it's bigger than before. Also I have a sore scalp and some parts ooze this fluid whcih becomes crusty after sometime. Should I be worried about this?
I read your query regarding a lump behind your left ear and at the same time you are having sore scalp with fluid discharge.
As per your symptoms it appears as you are having infection on your scalp therefore the draining lymph node behind the ear gets enlarge and become tender.
You should take antibiotic and anti inflammatory to manage the infection of scalp and at the same time you may use some local applicants contaning antibiotic, anti fungal and steroids on the sore scalp. I hope this will help you otherwise consultation with dermatologist will be necessary.
I hope your query is explained well.
Regards.
