Hard Lump Under Rib Cage, Occasional Pain. Melanoma?

I am a healthy 44 yo woman and have had a very small hard lump under my skin on my right side rib cage for about a month. It is painful at times and then I forget about it. It bothered me again starting yesterday. It looks like a burst capillary or something. I showed the cardiologist I work with and he is worried about melanoma. Thoughts?

Hi, it appears that there it is common to have some lymph nodes, due to some infection in the area of that gland, either external, or internal .
Unless it is growing in size, or become more pain full it is harm less. If you still have any doubt consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
Thank you.
