Hairline Fracture To Tail End Of Coccyx, Not Able To Sit Properly. Healing Time For Injury?
Hi I am a 53 yr old lady who fell 5 weeks ago and fell on my back causing a hairline fracture to my tail end to my coccyx. I am still in a lot of discomfort and can not sit properly on a chair, My worries are that my job entails a lot of lifting heavy elderly patients. I can not even lift up my 2yr old grandson..... How long will this discomfort last for? Will this injury cause long term damage to my lower back?? HELP! HAIRLINE COCCYX
You are at present loks to be suffering from COCCYDYNIA due to hairline coccyx fracture.Generally this condition may take about 6-8 weeks to resolve completely. You should do following to have complete recovery-
-Take a good analgesic .I used to prescribe tramdol with paracetamol in such patients.
-Take a warm sitz bath i.e. sit in a tub of warm water in morning for 5-10 minutes.
-Avoid sitting ,even you should lie down in prone or side lateral position.
-Avoid straining during passing stool.
Hope this will help you.
With best wishes.
