Hairfall After Childbirth. On Laser Therapy, On DHT Inhibitors. Prescribed Dronis 30 Ocp. Start Medication?

I gave birth about 10months ago and after 3 to 4 months of postpartum I started to loose hair, presently I am taking Laser Therapy , Hair fall is not very much but still I loose around 60 days of hair strand today also, I also visited my Gynae, she did all possible tests to rule out the problem and finally prescribed me with dronis 30 ocp for 3 months, I have not started to take up the pill as I am fearing that whether it will control hair fall or trigger it up more, also I was deficient in Vit D3, so I am taking this vit also and the clinic where I go for my laser also gave me Tablets , those are DHT inhibitor made of some saw palmetto extract. What shall I do , should I start taking OCP? please sir suggest me.

Hi,

Thanks for writing here.

Hair fall is common after delivery.

It usually continues up to 6 months ,but in some cases it may present for a year.

Breast feeding can also increase hair fall.As your baby is 10 month old,you can decrease feeding and start outside feeding.

Remember our body can recover up to 100 hairs daily.

So my advise is to wait for some more time and if no response then,you can start with minoxidil lotion.
