Had Unprotected Sex, Taken Morning After Pill. Have White Vaginal Discharge. What Is This?

I had unprotected sex 6 days ago, saturday morning. I took the morning after pill almost exactly 54 hours later. My period was previously started on the 28th of June and finished on the 4th of July. I had the unprotected sex on the 20th of July, and my periods are relatively normal now, so I should be due for it at the end of this month. I just want to know my chances of being pregnant? I know its not impossible, I just want some information on when I may have ovulated? and also, I'm finding that I've been having alot of thick, sticky and white vagnial discharge, what is this???

Hi and thanks for this query.

From the information you have provided, you probably ovulated around th 12th of June. Unprotected sex on the 20th of June followed by the pill make chances almost zero. I am very confident you are not pregnant unless the above information is not very true.

This pill can cause some small disturbance in the menstrual cycle rhythm. So do not get overly anxious if your menses get any delays as this isn't impossible with the pill.

The vagina discharge is very non specific and unless otherwise, should be transient. However, if new symptoms should develop, please seek medical attention.

Please, emergency contraception is not the standard of contraception. The best thing to do is to adopt a good contraceptive method. Talk with your doctor and choose a method if it is something you wish to consider. Also, always consider protection during intercourse to stay out of STDs.

Hope you find this helpful and informative. If you have more questions, please contact us for more answers. Wish you well.

Hi,
If you have been having regular 28-30 day cycles, you had intercourse during the fertile period ( around your ovulation time). Ovulation normally occurs 14 days prior to the onset of the next cycle. The emergency pill contains excess hormone and this may disturb the normal hormonal milieu and can lead to postponement of the cycles. The excessive vaginal discharge could be due to this disturbance. The protection with an emergency pill dwindles as the time of intake is delayed. You may wait for your next cycle and if you do not get it within a fortnight, please see a specialist for further care. Hope this helps. Take care.

Hi thanks for your.
First day of your last menstrual cycle (LMP) was 28th of June. Ovulation occurs between 13 and 15 day of cycle at an average 14th day. Calculating from your LMP you ovulated on 12th of July .You had unprotected sex on 20th of July that was your safe period. No chance of pregnancy. Over and above you have used emergency contraception (EC) which further decreased chances of pregnancy. Be 100% sure you have no chance of pregnancy. The vaginal discharge is due to EC, which is its side effect.
Hope this answers your question.
