Had Thyroidectomy Done. Been Sick 3 Times In Last 6 Months. Normal?

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had a thyroidectomy last August. My physician kept me well informed and everything followed as I was told. I got my calcium levels up, started feeling fatigues and irritable until they got my medication leveled off. I feel really good. I am not one to catch cold . I normally get sick 1 every 2-3 years. Since my surgery 6 months ago, I ve seen sick 3 times. Is this normal or is part of the getting older phase. By the way, I m 50 years old and female.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to Health care magic forum. After thyroidectomy there will defenitely be total change of levels of harmones, so the body will face the lower level of harmones, (till now it was loaded with high level of harmones.) There will be decrease in resistance as well.
As the doctors gradually increased the dosage, now everything will be fine. Any how the doctors will assay the progress of the health and change the drugs acccordingly. I hope you are satisfied with my answer.
Besides i advise you to follow some diet recommendations as take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, fruits, juices, egg, meat, and sea foods, as these could provide iron, proteins, vitamins, and minerals necessory for building up blood, resistance againest commen ailments, and general health.
Wishing for a continued good health and thanks for calling.
