Had Surgery For Ligament Tear And Tendon Tear In Left Ankle, Hurted Ankle, Swollen, Pain. Any Damage To Surgery?

yes my name is Melissa I am 34 yrs. old. I had a ligament tear and tendon tear in my left ankle on the out side. and had surgery 9 months ago. haven t had much pain just a little swelling. until I just stood up off my couch and I heard a loud pop and felt it pop in the back of my ankle kind of by my calf. and it now swollen like a tennis ball. I am in a lot of pain and I cant flex my foot forward or back and I cant step on it. do you think I did something to damage my surgery?

Thanks for using HCM.

Your history is suggestive of injury to ligament or tendon again. As you had surgery and you were in rest for 9 months, slowly operated foot needs to be exercised. initially non weight bearing movements then gradually weight bearing movements needs to be done. As your foot was in rest there will be some amount of stiffness in ligaments and tendons around joint in your foot.

Consult your doctor for examination, You may need MRI of foot for detecting any ligament tear.Which needs further management.
