Had Stroke, Carotid Endarterectomy. Had Clips Taken Off Today. Can I Fly?

Iam 82 and suffered a stroke on 01/11/12 while on holiday in Spain. I have had a carotid endarterectomy a week or so later. I was releashed from hospital last week with the clips being taken off my neck today. I am still in Spain but would like to come home although I have a follow-up appt booked on the 18th December. Would it be OK to fly home and have the follow up appt in the UK?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

It would be alright for you to fly home and have the follow up appoitment in the UK.

Please continue your regular medications, including anti-platelet agents (such as aspirin) and statins (such as rosuvastatin).

Wishing you good health,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
Senior Consultant Neurologist
