Had Semen Analysis Done. Is My Sperm Count Normal? What Does Head Defects Mean?

Hi doc, i had done my semen analysis last month, following is the report: Time of liquification 30 Min Color Greyish White Apperance Turbid Consistency Viscous pH 8.0 Volume 02ml Total Sperm Count 28 Million/ml Sperm Morphology Normal 60% Head defects 15% Midpice defects 15% Tail defects 10% Motility Active 30% Sluggish 20% Non Motile 50% White Blood Cell Occasional Red Blood Cell Nil Epithelial Cells Occasional Fructose Positive i had a gap of 25 days before the test conducted, so will it affect the report results as the lab guy said the gap has to be maximum 5 days thanks Waqar

Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have what is called as Oligozoospermia meaning there by that your sperm count is low compared to WHO standards.

Following measure will help you to increase the sperm count.
1) Practice regular exercise for 45 minutes followed by meditation for 1/2 an hour in the
2) Take high protein diet rich in vegetables and fruits and Vitamin A,C,D,E.and Zinc
3)Take anti oxidants like Almonds 5-6 everyday..
4) Avoid alcohol and smoking.
The presence of WBCis suggestive of active infection either of prostate or seminal vesicle which can be cured by taking antibiotics for 3 weeks.

Please repeat your semen analysis after abstinence of 4-5days to confirm the diagnosis.
