Had Root Canal Treatment And Crown Replaced. Now Have Deep Periodontal Pocket On Mesiolingual Surface. Suggest?

I recently had a root call retreatment on #14 and had a crown replaced after. The tooth was asymptomatic prior to the retreatment, but had what appeared to be a periapical radiolucency on the mesial root. Several months later, I now have a fairly deep periodontal pocket on the mesiolingual surface despite having an excellent hygiene routine: I floss 1-2X a day, brush 2-3 times a day, and my last prophylactic cleaning was in June. Is there anything I can do to help this pocket outside of seeing a periodontist? It isn't painful, but can be a food trap and it is sometime malodorous when flossing.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptoms i suppose that you have developed a pocket in the crowned tooth.

I would suggest you to go for complete mouth scaling and polishing.

Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.

Avoid eating from the affected side.

Maintain a good oral hygiene.

Hope you find this as helpful,

Regards..
