Had Regular Period, Light. Have Fibroid. Normal For Perimenopause?

Hi I am 53 and have had regular periods up until recently. However, I am now worrying because my latest period has lasted 28 days and still going, although not heavy. Is this typical of perimenopause or could it be serious? I know I have a fibroid , we found this out when i was pregnant with my last child who is 6 years old, but it hasn t caused me any problems.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
This bleeding may be due to peri menopausal or it may be due to fibroid also.
But bleeding for so many days may developed weakness, blood loss in. long term.
So please consult a gynecologist and get your examination and investigation done.
Start iron and colic acid tablets.
good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa
