Hi and thanks for the query,
Its not unusual to have irregular cycles when affected with polycystic ovarian disease. However, i is still always very normal practice to rule out a pregnancy possibility in a female of reproductive age when an abnormality in menses off any sort, especially with a history of unprotected sex that could lead to a pregnancy is present. I suggest you carry out a preferable serum Beta HCG pregnancy test, and if not, an abdominal ultrasound to be sure.
Thanks and hope this helps, Best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
