Had Mild Stroke Previously. Having Weak Limbs, Coughing Throughout The Night. Could The Medicines Be Causing The Breathing Problem?

almost two year ago my husband had a mild stroke. The meds he that he is taking i am not sure if they are helping or not, He has not slept through the night he legs and arms are still weak and he continues to wake up coughing throughout the night The doctor want to send him to get tested for sleep apnea. Could the meds be the cause of his breathing problem before the mild stroke he has never taken any medication was very active at the time in 2010 he was 47 year old.

It seems that he is having coughing since months
Some anti hypertensive medicine like ramipril and other ACE inihibitors may cause cough. Patients with stroke may have difficulty in deglutation which may also be the cause of cough because food spills into wind pipe sometimes.

However he should undergo a detailed examination by a chest doctor to ruleout Tuberculosis or any other cause like COPD or allergic respiratory disease.
