Had Medication Abortion In March. No Periods. Pregnancy Test Positive. Possible?

I had a medication abortion on march 19th. Went to my follow up appointment April 2nd and was still bleeding and was told I had more tissue to expel. I officially didn't stop bleeding until the middle of april. It is now a month after I finally stopped bleeding but I have had no signs of my period. I took a pregnancy test it read positive and I had blood work done indicating hcg level of 23. Do you think I could be pregnant again?

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
The chances of pregnancy are there after 4-6weeks of abortion.
You should consult a gynaecologist for ultrasonography to rule out pregnancy because pregnancy test may take time to become negative after abortion. If there is no pregnancy going for withdrawal bleeding medication.
Good luck.
Take care.
