Had Large Stroke, Was On Vegetative State, On Warfarin. Has Seizure, Stopped Warfarin. Survival Chances?

HI, my dad had a large stroke 9mths ago and is know close to a vegetative state, he was considered high risk of further strokes so has been on warfarin ever since. He had a seizure a few nights ago so has been taken off the warfarin and the doctors have told us this is "the beginning of the end". Do you have any idea of time frames? Or what we can expect?

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
It is difficult to predict the time frame for death.
In addition to stroke, it also depends on other factors such as nutrition, nursing care and physiotherapy. If he is looked after well by the family, nurses and physical therapists, his life can be prolonged. On the other hand, if he develops chest infection, or other complications, the end may come sooner.
I hope it helps.

Please get back if you require any additional information.

Best wishes,
