Had Kidney Transplant, Diabetic And Taking Anti Rejection Drugs. Will Tradjenta Help?

I am kidney transplant patient and I would like know if diabetic drug tradjenta would help control my diabetes and I was a diabetic 2 before transplant but since taking anti-rejections drugs I don''t have good control on my diabetes.
I sugars level go down in the mornings anywhere from 2.4 to 5.0 and I have my evening snack around 8:30 to 9:00Pm.
When I take my anti -rejections drugs my sugar level goes up approximately 4 to 5 points.
Thank you
William

Hello,
Although TRADJENTA can be taken by you because this drug is mostly excreted by enterohepatic system and very less by urine, but ideally you should be on basal bolus regime of injectable insulin because use of insulin shall be able to control your sugar levels effectively as compared to any oral anti diabetic medicine.
Consult a diabetologist for proper management of your diabetes.
Thanks

trajenta (linagliptin) is considered kidney friendly amongst all of its class, however in the given scenario, Human Insulin remains your best choice, given in titrated doses ... pl talk to your nephrologist and diabetologist
