hi, My mother who is 84 had a hiatel hernia repair 5 years ago. A couple years ago another hernia appeared in the same area. As a result she has a football like protrusion just below her breasts. Soon after her operation her digestive problems started. The surgeon told us after several tests ( barium swallow . gastroscopy) that her assophagus empties out very slowly. She has to regularly induce vomiting because something (anything) will get stuck and she can no longer continue eating. They have prescribed motelium, but it really doesn t help much. Is there any other new drugs better than motelium?
