Had Flu Shot, Bilateral. Pneumonia, Shortness Of Breath, Lung Pain, Congestion, Exertion And Tiredness. On Prednisone. Suggest?
in 2007 i got my first and only flu shot and within 2 weeks had bilateral pneumonia. This December I developed a RTI with severe congestion and shortness of breath and lung pain. Treated with antibiotics twice did nothing. A 5 day course of Prednisone brought about a reduction in symptoms. 5 months later I still am short of breath with exertion and tire easily. The chest pain persists.
It might necessary to have a reevaluation. There are two main options to be carefully considered in this case. first, the treatment might be inappropriate or insufficient, secondly, other causative agents like TB could be implicated and thirdly, non infectious agents that cause chest pain might be implicated (Gatsroesophagal reflux disease, asthma, heart disease).

Hi and thanks for the query, It might necessary to have a reevaluation. My suggestion is you consult a pulmonologist for a more detailed and proper evaluation. Thanks and hope this helps, Bain LE, MD.
