Had Fever. Prescribed Taxim-o Syrup. Worried That Have Given Highly Concentrated Syrup. Harmful?
Hi, My infant 1.5 yrs old was havn fever 100-101 a day back n our doc. asked us to use taxim-o syrup for 3 days. (He has no cold or cough n goes to crèche/day-care). We added water(which comes along with that pack of Taxim-o) and started giving him 5 ml each. The issue now we have is we see that after 3 doses i.e 15 ml the bottle seems to be almost empty may b another 5 ml or less is remaining. I fear if I added less water though when I added n shaked it looked to me it was upto the brim indicator, so may b my child took 5ml of high concentration.. Is it harmful?? Not sure but it seems he has developed mouth ulcer though its not visible.. ! A response/feedback would b a great help. Thanks
Syp. Taxim-O is a 30 ml. bottle and should make 6 doses of 5 ml. each. Kindly check the bottle label that it mentions 30 ml. Do not worry about the dose given by you. It is appropriate and even if you have given a slightly higher dose nothing is going to harm your son.
You mentioned that your son has an ulcer but it is not seen which is a very contradictory statement. Kindly clarify this point so that we can guide you further on this.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
