Had Eye Brow Cut And Had Stitches. Head Feels Numb And Hurts. Fracture? Will The Wound Heal?
i fell over on april 19th so 3 weeks ago and hit my head hard on the pavement , i went to the hospital as my eyebrow was cut open, had stitches, my head is still num and hurts a little is that normal, the hospital doctor said i didnt need an x ray as the forehead is about 2 ins thick and very strong and if there was a fracture it would heel itself?
I am completely disagree with advice of your doctor. If you had injury to your head then this is necessary to have x ray or higher investigations like CT/MRI to detect an internal injury to brain. If there is fracture then this becomes more necessary.
Head injuries may present with symptoms even upto 3 months after injury, this gap between injury & symptoms is known as LUCID INTERVAL. You should not afraid by this information ,but at this time my opinion to you is to have complete investigation so that any abnormal thing can be checked at its earliest.
Hope this all will help you with best wishes.
