Had E.coli As A Result Of Illias, Staff Infection, Thrush, Not Regained Bladder Function

I was recently told my father had e. coli as a result of illias. I understood e. coli to be spread by ingestion or person to person contact. He also had staff infection, thrush, and had not regained bladder function 13 days after back surgery that was supposed to be followed by only a 3 day stay in the hospital. I am beginning to wonder about the cleanliness of the hospital he was in.

Hi.I think that bladder funtion is mainly realted to surgery. The hospital infection due to E.coli is common in hospital. As most patients receive antibiotic cover, the hospital acquired infection is less likely, exception are Multidrug resistant microorganisms.you should be more careful about any infection of urinary tract for now because of compromised urinary tract functions.non proper functioning of bladder(less flushing, dribbling & residual urine) predisposes to urinary tract infection. please get your bladder function resolved as early as possible by reconsulting. take care of hygiene till then.thank you.
