Had Breathing Difficulty, Back Pain, Feeling Cold And Tired. Did I Experience Heart Attack?
hi Dr. Christensen..Good day to you! I m Nilda,32 years old. I want to consult you for what happened to me twice. I woke up around 2am having difficulty in breathing . it seems like something is on my chest or blocking my throat. i feel cold and tired. I have upper left back pain . my left arm especially my little finger feels weak. did i experience heart attack? or what do you think about this? thank you.
Hi Nida,
Thanks for writing in.
I am a qualified and certified cardiologist. I read your mail with diligence.
On basis of history it seems unlikely that you have had heart attack. However, one can not exclude problems related to heart like Paroxysmal Nocturnal Dysnea or related to airways Obstructive Nocturnal Apnea. You need to be seen by a doctor who would thoroughly examine you and if needed shall do one or more of the tests like ECG, Echocardiography, Chest X-ray, to name some before we can reach a final conclusion. Good Luck.
With best regards.
Sincerely
Dr Anil Grover
