Had Blighted Ovum, Contractions, Bleeding, Brown Spotting, Stomach Pain. Taking Ibuprofen. Did Miscarriage Result In Infection?

Hello, I had a blighted Ovum which I found out at 8 weeks and 3 days when I went to the Doctor on 10/29/13. I had brownish spotting for a few days starting on 10/26 and started bleeding red blood on 10/30. On 11/2 I had contractions and a lot of pain and in a few hours passed a lot of clots and some long stringy looking tissue that was dark brown, almost black in color. I also passed what looked like a small sack, it was grayish in color. The next few days I still had pain and passed clots and a lot of blood. On 11/5, I started having shooting pain in my anus that was very painful. I also had some stomach pain. Today, 11/6, when I woke up, there was a blob of tissue type stuff in my pad, it could be pulled apart and I wasn t sure if it was the placenta. I also starting having a pulling pain in my lower abdomen when I urinated all day. It hurts to stand up straight without medication. I have been taking ibuprofen and nyquil at night for the pain. Can you please let me know if all this sounds normal? My pain has not stopped, does this mean the miscarriage is not complete? How long does the pain last after the miscarriage? Is it normal for the sac to come out days before the placenta? Do you think I have an infection? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Since the pain is present, the miscarriage is not complete. You need to have an ultrasound scan done to find out the cause of your persistent bleeding and pain.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
