Had Bleeding In Last Periods. Scan Shows Retroverted Uterus With Intra Uterine Gestatatinal Sac & Yolk Sac. Delayed Miscarriage?
Hi I attended a scan today due to bleeding for 6 days LMP was 16/04/2013 midwife stated I was 10wks1day but the scan sonographer stated this isn't correct however I was told the following scan shows a retroverted uterus with intra uterine gestatatinal sac and yolk sac with small fetal pole and crl=3.4mm no fetal activity noted, too early to assess visibility,I'm worried this might be a delayed miscarriage or if it is infact that the dating of the pregnancy is wrong and I'm not 10 weeks, the bleeding is playing a big role because I'm scared could I being slowly having a miscarriage
Hello Thanks for your query. With the bleeding, the scan could point towards a missed miscarriage. Another possibility is that the dating is incorrect, and this is a delayed pregnancy. If review scan after a week fails to show adequate growth and corresponding increase in size of the fetus, then the diagnosis of miscarriage is confirmed. Meanwhile, take rest, avoid stress, sex, travelling etc. Take care.
