Had An Abscess On Breast, Drained It Out, Now Pus Filled Bubble On Incision Site. Is It Staph Infection?

Hello I had an abcess in my breast about 3 years ago and had it drained. There is now a pus filled bubble on the incision site. What is this? I also have a staph infection near there that a breast surgeon has been trying to treat for 2 months now but it keeps reopening. He wasn't so me to find an underlying issue that is causing it to keep coming back. I had along tests done and they can't find the reason. Any ideas? Thank you

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Staph infection is common in the incision sites. This bacteria is normally present in the skin and can cause infection when the patient's immunity falls or when injury occurs to the skin. These staph are called CONS and can sometimes be very resistant to antibiotic treatment. I suggest you get a culture sensitivity test of the pus from the wound to find the appropriate antibiotic for this infection. Also keep the area clean and dry.

Thanks.
