Had A Thyroid Ultrasound, CT Scan. Found Hypoechoic Nodule On The Thyroid. Not That Sick. Problem?

I HAD A THYROID ULTRASOUND AND THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY A CT SCAN WITH/WITHOUT CONTRAST. THEY FOUND A 3 MM HYPOECHOIC NODULE ON MY RIGHT SIDE OF MY THYROID AND A 4 MM HYPOECHOIC NODULE ON THE LEFT. THEY ALSO FOUND A 2.4 X 1.7 PROMINENT LYMPH NODE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY NECK. I WENT TO A HEAD/NECK SURGEON WHO FELT MY NECK AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING OBVIOUS SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. I WAS KIND OF SHOCKED SINCE THE RADIOLOGIST SAID AN MRI IS WARRENTED FOR FURTHER EVALUATION. WOULD AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST/ENDOCRINE SURGEON BE BETTER SUITED OR SHOULD I NOT BE CONCERNED. OTHER PHYSICIANS, WHO AREN'T ENT'S, STATED TO ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE DONE A BIOPSY OR NEEDLE ASPIRATION. I HAVEN'T BEEN SICK AT ALL. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?

Endocrinologist 's  Response
dear, thanks for visiting HCM. it is really surprising for patients to find out that doctor fraternity vary so much in opinion. but the fact is medicine is so very vast that such things do happen. in my opinion let us not leave anything for chance and don't wait for you to feel sick before you investigate coz that is too late. pls do get a biopsy done or radio nuclide studies to find out the status of thyroid nodules. also evaluate your thyroid function test. regards!
