Had A Minor Surgery For Callus Removal In The Foot. What Precautions To Be Taken For An Easy Healing?

I just had a minor operation to get 4 callus removed from the sole of my right foot . The callus were at the side of the foot, 2 at the ball of the feet and one between the ball of the foot and the big toe . What precautions should I take for the foot to heal and to avoid more callus to form in the future. I have already changed the shoes I wear after consulting with a shoe specialist and the doctor. Should I take any antibiotic to prevent any infection or painkiller? The doctor didn t prescribe anything, just asked me to visit after 2 days to get the bandage changed.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
If there is no pain or inflammation, then pain killers or antibiotics are not needed. You need to keep the area clean and go for a regular massage of the foot and regular moisturization to prevent the recurrence.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
