Hi, I had a lumber Puncture done a week ago, I could not walk for a whole week due to pain in my lower back and a headache that wouldn't even let me think. I was discharged from the hospital today because I was able to stand, my question is how long will it be till I can walk with out any help? I am 15 and suffer from EBV too.

Hi,

It sounds as if you have a post-spinal puncture headache. This is usually a very severe headache made worse with the upright position. There are medications which can help in this condition like Caffeine. Further, drinking plenty of fluids help. If you are unable to walk after the headaches settle (usually takes a few days), it would be advisable to contact your doctor ASAP.

Hope this helps?
