Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M.

I read your query regarding cough and cold, sore throat, neck pain and blocked ears and blood in phlegm.

According to your symptoms you are having acute respiratory tract infection with acute otitis media. There is also involvement of sinuses which is giving headache and blood in nasal discharge. Severe infection of throat is blocking eustachian tubes thus developing ear symptoms.

You are advice for-

(1) Culture & Sensitivity of Phlegm / Throat swab.

(2) C.T. scan of paranasal sinuses.

(3) X-Ray chest (P.A.view).

(4) Blood - CBC, ESR, Blood sugar ( F & PP ).

Beside this thorough examination of Ear, Nose & Throat along with Chest and there clinical co-relation with inferences of investigations will help in planning for treatment.

Till you are wating for investigation and to consult doctor you may take-

(a) Tab Paracetamol.

(b) Tab cetrizine.

(c) Steam inhalation.

(d) Expectorant cough syrup.

I hope this will help you.

Regards.
