Had A Angiogram. Failed Stress Test. What Can I Do About It?

Hello there I had a angiogram 10 days ago. We re the doctor performed the procedure I have had pain on the side of my thigh even some pain in my right side of my lower back there is bruising there not at the incesion but about 5 inches down. I went to the hospital on Friday which was 2 days ago. Er doctors performed a ultrasound they had checked my thigh at the incesion and on the side of my thigh around the front part of my thigh pretty much all around the whole area. There was know sign of artery blockage or clots or anything they had told me at the er. How long does it take for the pain to go away also every now and then I feel like a needle feeling integrity area I just would like to be done with this I am 31 years old thank God no blockage at all I just failed the stress test twice so the doctor was a little concerned so we ruled out that everything was fine after just trying to heal up has been the challenge thanks

usually pain vanishes in 3-4 days but for some patients it may lasts longer. take painkiller like peracitamol 500 mg for pain and do some ice packing, it will help in relieving pain also help in reduce bruising. bruising will take some time to go as u mentioned that there is no blood collection around the angio site.

General & Family Physician Dr. Kulbir Singh's  Response
Hello and thanks for the query
As you know the Coronary angiography is performed by the femoral route. The bruise and pain is usual after all angiography procedure. The pain takes about 5-7 days for complete cease off. Till than you can try analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs with local application of gels. You can also try hot fermentation at the site. But make sure that you are not suffering from any fever or raised local area temperature at the site. And don't make you leg stiff, do all the movements of the leg.
Now about bruise, it takes about 3-4 weeks to heal depending upon the patient and associated factors like diabetics etc.
So don't we worry and wait for the complete healing and must watch for fever and abscess(as you have normal USG so chances are less).
Hope you got your answer.
Best Wishes
