Had Tympanoplasty And Mastoidectomy Done In Left Ear. Have Pus Discharge. Had Eaten Ice Cream. Is This Related?

Hello Dr.
I am 39 years old and under went both tympanoplasty and Mastoidectomy in my left ear, Aug 2013 and suddenly for the last 2/3 days, i have pus discharge from my left ear. (in which surgery done). Consulted the Surgeon, he has given some antibiotics and asked me to come for a review after a week. I had some cold juice and ice creams last week, is it may be due it? how do we find out, whether our graft is in tact after this surgery. Thank you in advance. Rgds, Sridhar.

as per your surgery if there is throat congesti the eustachian tubes block by taking cold or ice cream the infection can occur in mastoids and cavity of mastoid is left our outside drum
so when infection in tubes the pus comes out through opening the mastoids outside drum in eac
that is treatecd with antibiotics
in my opinion drum must have been fine
