HSG Shows Well-opacified Endometrial Cavity. Are Tubes Blocked?

hello, I had a HSG and the reports point: The scout image is unremarkable. following contrast administration, endometrial cavity is well-opacified. There is a small filling defect at right superior aspect of the uterine cavity near the cornua. Fallopian tubes show no intraperitoneal spill. Bilateral fallopian tubes obstructed Can you please advice if the reports says that my tubes are blocked ? We are trying for pregnancy for 10 months . I had a Sonohysterogram too, the reports confirmed filling defect in the uterine measuring 17 x 8 mm. What i have to do and what should be our next steps? We are looking for an option for pregnancy ?

Hi,
I feel very sorry to say that the reports suggest tubal block. Now, it remains to be seen if you have correctable blocks and this can be done through laparoscopy. Also, the cause of the cornual block can be seen through hysteroscopy. Surgical correction can be done wherever possible, but, it should be kept in mind that tubal motility is an important factor in aiding a natural pregnancy and the risk of ectopic pregnancy increases with any such procedures even if chances of conception can be increased. The other alternative is to opt for IVF. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good luck.
