Hello, I am a 23 year old female who does not smoke or drink. For about a month I have been having thick mucus at the back of my throat that i feel draining from my nose...sometimes when i feel it draining i can catch it in my mouth and spit it out. Its normally thick and clear with some white specks. I always have the need to clear my throat and spig up.the mucus. Today i cleared my throat and it was small specks of blood in it that went away after clearing 3 more times. Sometimes When i raise my voice or when i talk i get hoarse but goes away if i talk a little bit more. Prior to those symptoms...I went to the doctor she didnt look in my nose or anything but prescribed 3000 mg of amoxicillin and flonase all she did was look in my mouth listen to my lungs and looked in my ears.i still have these symptoms and the flonase doesnt seem to help. in addition i have ear congestion that sometimes pop in and out. I also have a combination of runny and stuffy nose Ive been taking Zyrtec D which helps clear out my nose but the mucus is still somewhat there, and is very annoying. Also when i had a cold prior to this happening i had a terrible cough that produced white and yellow mucus, which has stopped. But sometimes when im exposed to cold air i hear the mucus in my chest. I do not have a sore throat or fever or anything. What should i do??
