I have undergone angioplasty and one stent is used. Cholesterol levels are normal(Total cholesterol: 112 mg/dl, Triglycerides: 116 mg/dl, HDL : 47 mg/dl, LDL: 56 mg/dl). Doctor prescribed Rozavel 20mg, If I take this tablet, I am getting body ache and itching. Are these side effects expected and what needs to eb done? Is this tablet required to be taken?

Hello.A person with angioplasty-stent must take Rosuvastatin- or similar drug -for life although their cholesterol levels are normal.Rosuvastatin is a drug that decrease cholesterol levels.Adverse effects that you have are very common.
Usually adverse effects are less with the passage of time but if it is not, your doctor should consider replace Rosuvastatin by other similar drug (simvastatin, atorvastatin).Another option-less effective-is replace rosuvastatin by another drug that decrease cholesterol levels, for example ezetimibe.
If your symptoms persist,go to your doctor to consider replace the drug.
I wish you good health.
