General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi
Thanks for writing in.
For gastritis, the main treatment would be a proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole and a prokinetic agent like domperidone. Since you have not responded to these, I would suggest that you speak with your physician about starting you on treatment for Helicobacter pylori. This is a bacterium which is known to cause gastric ulcers and this needs specific treatment.
If your liver is enlarged, then I would request you to get the following investigations done. A liver function test, Anti-HBs antibodies and Anti-HCV antibodies would be required . This will help us identify the cause of the enlarged liver.
Further, the following lifestyle modification will help:
a. Eat frequent meals and avoid spicy food and oily food
b. Avoid alcohol, tea, coffee and smoking
c. Eat your dinner atleast 2-3 hours before sleeping
d. Minimize stress

I hope this helps
Regards
