Gallbladder pain. Why does the ribs and liver area hurt?

I have been having off and on pain since I had my gallbladder out a year ago. Since then it is sometimes felt in the upper right side of my ribs and sometimes a little lower. This pain seems to be around where my liver is located. Sometimes it is in between where my laproscopic scars are. I am worried that something may be wrong. I hear a lot of people say that it is probably scar tissue .

Thanks for writing in HCM.
If the pain which you are experiencing now happens to be the same which you used to experience prior to undergoing surgery then a condition called post cholecystectomy syndrome needs to be ruled out. Once that is ruled out then one can safely attribute the pain to scar tissue.
