General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. From the history, it seems that you either had a muscle tear resulting in a hematoma (small collection of blood) under your rib cage which has organised and causing this discomfort to you, or might be an incisional hernia through the operative area of previous gall bladder surgery. If the pain increases or continues, I would suggest you to go for a CT scan of the area to exclude any pathology not picked up by the ultrasound. In the mean while you may go for an anti inflammatory drug along with a proton pump inhibitor drug for a symptomatic relief.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
