Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
are reliever inhalors, that means that they are used when symptoms of an acute asthamatic episode are present. These would include symptoms such as night time cough or dry cough
, shortness of breath
, wheezing or chest tightness
. They are not used to prevent an asthmatic attack. They are both the same type of drug with no main difference.
Seretide is a preventer , this means that it is used to prevent an asthmatic attack from occurring. It is used in persons with recurrent attacks or persons who require frequent use of the reliever inhalors. They are entirely different from the reliever inhalors (asthalin and ventolin).
You need to use the seretide to stop the attacks from occurring, if an attack occurs despite using the seretide, you would then use either the asthalin or ventolin.
I hope this helps
