Frequent Urination, Urgency To Pass Urine. Done Ultrasound Of KUB Region

I am 59yrs male and have a problem of frequent urination and also there is urgency to pass urine. This problem is ther for last many years. Once, in Jan, 2011 ultrasound of KUB region was done. The result was : Both kidneys normal in size, shape and position, Renal parenchymal, sinus echoes, renal excursions with respiration. Both uretar not dilated. Urinary bladder normal in filling and contour, no calculus or wall thickening, post voiding urine volume 55 ml. Prostate normal in size with intact capsule-no mass, calcification, weight 19 gms. No retroperitoneal or mesentric lymphadenopathy. No ascites. In Aug, 2008, in MHC Ultrasound abdo-screening, the bladder was normal in contour and outline, wall thickness normal. Prostate size 2.4 x 3.7 x 3 cm and volume 14.1 cc, normal in echopattern. No rectum exam for prostate size done. Kindly advise.

Thanks for your query.Based on what you have posted it appears that you have post void residue of urine 1about 55 mi which is significant and suggest some obstruction to flow of Urine from Bladder.In absence of enlarged Prostate the other commonest cause at this age is Bladder Neck Stenosis this can be confirmed only on clinical examination and Endoscopic Examination (Cystoscopy) of the Bladder .SO please consult qualified Urologist for assessment and further treatment.
