OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
Prostate enlargement is a common problem faced by many men in and after fifties. The enlargement may result in incomplete evacuation of the bladder that could lead to bladder infections, stone formation and rarely ascending infection into the kidney. The severity of the condition is assessed by the BPH index and treatment given accordingly. Medical and surgical methods of treatment are available. It is completely curable. You should see a urologist who can assess your condition and manage it further. It is always necessary to exclude more serious conditions like prostate cancer with similar symptoms. Take care.

Urologist Dr. G.Srinivasan's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
This is probably the most common problem a urologist faces, in his practice.
What is the reason for not getting the answer? Is it language barrier or you are not able to understand some terms used in medicine?
You have NOCTURIA WHICH is one of the symptoms of prostate enlargement in old age. This can also occur in diabetes.
You also need uroflowmetry and renal function tests.
Based on this, treatment options will be either medicines or endoscopic surgery.
Hope this explains.

Regards
DR GS
