Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

Your son's urine analysis report does indicate the possibility of a mild urinary tract infection, yet this result is very inconclusive. This will have to be backed up by another test called a urine culture examination, which will help in finding the infection causing organism as well as provide information on the most suitable antibiotic that can be used to treat the infection (if present).

Thus, please re-visit your doctor and get this investigation done, the report takes 24-48 hours to return, thus the earlier this is done the better.

In the meantime, please give your son plenty of water and also add cranberry juice to his diet, which has proved to have added benefits in relieving urinary tract infection-symptoms. Please also be informed that consumption of more amount of water will also result in frequent urination, please do not be alarmed by this.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.

Pediatrician Dr. Y V Siva Sankara Murty's  Response

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

There is nothing much to worry about this urine report.

But if your child is passing continuous drops of urine we need to examine and investigate your kid.

Other than this frequent drops of urine does he have any other problem?
Does he have any history of frequent fever?

Is your kid other wise active and playful? How long he is having this problem?
Does he cry while passing urine?

Please reply in detail so that we can help you better.

Take care.
