Frequent Bouts Of Nausea, Fatigue, Cold Sweats, Loss Of Appetite. Heartburn After Eating. History Of Cancer In Family. Thoughts?

hello,
My stubborn husband has been having frequent bouts of nausea, fatigue, cold sweats, loss of appetite , weightloss(not so much as actual lbs but his legs look like that have lost a lot of muscle tone and he has had to cinch his belt two spots more) these episode have increased to almost every day over the past 6-8 months. he is tired all the time...not even a day of sleep or rest changes how he feels. He says he doesn't eat because almost as soon after he does he feels heart burn like symptoms and nausea and cold sweats . I am wondering if this is his gallbladder? he has had a recent physical with the normal blood tests which wre all perfect. but I don't know if we should request further testing from his pcp? I really worried that some serious is wrong...like cancer? His mom died at 46 of stomache/breast cancer. my husband is 47.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
I would come up with these possibilities and measures for your husband for these symptoms , these includes.
1 The first possibility is of peptic ulcer disease or Hiatus hernia or stomach tumor ( due to familial history). Diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy & M R I ( of stomach).Try raising the head of your husband's be about 4 inches with blocks. It also might help to avoid eating or drinking for 2 hours before he lie down.To help control stomach acid one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them or eat chocolate or spicy food or greasy foods. Also give him some antacid ( better if oxetacine in antacid) but if symptoms are severe then he may need drugs like proton pump inhibitors.
2 Tension ( anxiety or stress ) is the second most important reason for the illness of your husband. He is passing in a trauma because his mom died due to stomach cancer at the age of 46 years . Your husband is also 47 years , so this is natural panic in his mind.Tension develops loss of appetite , nausea, irritation. Diagnosis can be confirmed after consultation with a psychiatrist.
In my opinion , relax at your home and consult a physician and get his opinion regarding these both conditions as mentioned .
Good luck.
