Fractured Ribs, Dislocated Shoulder, Ligament Injury And Punctured Lungs, GOUT. Given Morphine, Inserted Chest Drain. Other Options?

Hi there, in Nov 2006 I had a fall of 4 meters from the top of the truck I was working on, I went over backwards hitting the safety guard behind that calpast, i went over back wards and on the way down my right side back hit the rear wheel mud guard Brackets, fracturing 3 right lower ribs and puncturing my right lung. I thn hit the ground head and right shoulder first flicking my head to the left severly, fracturing and dislocation of my right shoulder. I was nocked out for 35minutes and was just coming to when the ambulance arrived, They assessted me and i actuall was helped to my feet and remember climbing into the ambulance my self and laying down on their Gurney, next time I woke up we were still at the scene and another ambulance was backing up to the one I was in. They had to call out paramedics, to give me morphine and insert a right chest drain. On the ambulance report it stated not KO on arrival, tried to fit neck braise but unable to because of pain. I was then transported to Waikato Hosp, some 45mins from where the accident took place, At the hospital i was assessed with a puncture right lung, and the xrays did not pick up any fractured or broken disc s until 4 days later when the full time radiologist read the reports. Hospital records still show no fractures to the ribs, yet the copies of the xrays show other wise, the records also suggeted that they did other xrays and found no other injuries????, (Not it was not till the full time radiologist was back on deck did he pick up the fractures others had missed. The right shoulder injury was not picked up till a few days later when they were trying to work out why the morphine pump rigged up to my right hand was not working, they then discovered the fractured and dislocated shoulder, they could not work out why i was in so much pain, then discovered that my left knee was also injuried in the accident, but tried to tell me it was actaually gout not and injury. Afetr xrays confirmed that I had an ligament injury, I was told both my knee injury and my shoulder injuries would come right on their own with out any intervention. I was discharged 12 days after the accident. 2 months later I was refered to an orthopaedic surgeon who had an MRI done on my knee and arranged for immediate addision to a private hospital and had it repaired, 9 months later with no relief to my right arm i was again seen by another orhtopaedic surgeon who also admitted me into a private hospital for wha was a major rebuild of my right shoulder, I had 2 diferent physiotheropist attemp to help me after the shoulder surgery who had to continually modify the the physiotheropy in the end both giving up saying there must be more injuries that some one has not picked up. I eventually tried to return to my work, but after several months of struggling I went back to my Dr who refered me to another othopaedic surgeon who did and MRI on my right shoulder and did another lot of surgery to my right shoulder with out success, While having more physiotheropy and the physio concerned she was not making progress sent a letter to my surgeon asking him to take a serious look at my thoracic spine, He organised a Bone scan that came back positive with injuries to my spine where the fractures had taken place. I was give 5 xray and CT guided nerve blocks and on the last one the Surgeon tried to arrange an MRI to see where the die was going in the last CT guided Block, ACC refused to pay for this saying the injuries he was working on were not part of the recorded injuries. The same surgeon had also had an MRI done on my right side neck that had picked up injuries to my C-spine with prolaspt disc bulging but no nerve root compression. because he was pushed into a corner with no funding to go the direction he was going he had no option to refer me to the Auckland Pain clinic where I was diagnosed as having chronic pain, No further treatment required. It was ACC.s own Insurance provider Gallagher Bassett, who took ove my ACC care and to fast tract remove me from ACC, the Dr who was doing assessments for Gallagher Bassett was makiing assesments with out been told about the other injuries that my surgeon was working on until it was discussed internally that I had other injuries that were not included in my accident. I went to an Independant Orthopaedic surgeon with what information I had with me and a letter from my Dr, His initial assessement was I did infact have injuries that had not been considered and may well have been caused in my accident. That got the Dr for Gallagher Bassett asking questions and it was not till ACC had done a final VIMA assessment to get me off work that their Medical Advising Dr suggested to Gallagher Bassett that they send all reports information MRI s ands Bone scanes to one of Auckland top Orthopaedic surgeons asking him to doa full report and consider if the C-spine and thoracic spine should be included in my ACC claim. It took him several weeks to go through the information. He sent a report back after reading all the reports and documents incuding MRI s Bone scanes and origanal xrays done at the time, His findings were he was very satifisfed that my C-spine and thoracic spine should be included in my clain and proceeded to tell Gallagher Bassett about how my injuries would happen in a fall like that and that my pain alone from my punctured lung would have been so great at the time I would not have known where any other pain was coming from. Gallagher Bassett then included those injuries to my file, but contunued to take me off ACC. Dispaite my own Dr after receiving the Report from the surgeon suggesting to Gallagher Bassett to include the injuries. My Dr asked Gallagher Bassett to arrange a ful medical review, which they declined to do. I was taken off ACC on Feb 16th 2012, I have suffered ever since struggling to do things, It was not till this year 2013 that my Dr suggested I seek a 2nd opinion from an other independant Dr, So I googled to find a Dr in my region who was involved with Orthopaedics, Accident Injury and recovery and Occupaional health. Only one Dr came up and I made an appointment to see this Dr, my wife Lena came along, I had emailed the Dr in advance and told him about my sistuation, During our session with the Dr we both noticed he was rather nervious and then said he was the Mediacl Advising Dr for Gallagher Bassett and he could only make assessment on information provided at the time of his assessment and he was clearly not giving the full facts about my complete injuries. WE had already started a clain to reopen my ACC using an ACC 18 form, ACC sent it to my Dr but it did not include the Injuries of the C-spine ot the thoracic spine, so she included them into the form, The form was rejected and ACC said it was unusable. So this Dr I was talking to who was Gallagher Bassetts Medical Advisor rang some one at ACC Auckaand and made enquiries on how to get injuries add to my ACC list when they were excepted as part of my injuries and not showing up as recorded, That side of it was fixed up. Then that Dr rang my own Dr and helped her set up the new ACC 18 claim, which was excepted and now been procesed, I am now aiting on MRI s that should have been done at the time Gallagher Bassett excepted the new injuries previous not covered.
