Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
The femur is the thickest bone in the body and a fracture of this bone needs utmost care by an expert. Depending on your bro's age and the fracture position, an orthopaedic surgeon will either advice non-operative or operative treatment. Either way, it' ll take 2-3 months to heal, faster in children below 12 yrs. Once operated, the patient can get up with crutches with a week.
