Found A Loop In Large Colon Which Is Causing Pain Under The Ribs

Hi I have a loop in my large colon which gives me pain just under the ribs on the right side. I have a history of irritable bowel syndrome and have had 3 bowel obstructions 20 to 30 years ago. The Dr. says I need to watch my diet and take laxatives to avoid getting constipated which may aggravate and irritate the nerves along the colon in that area making the pain worse and to avoid a bowel obstruction.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, colon loop most of the time are physiological and not due to disease unless it is the proved intestinal obstruction, if the loop is physiological then it may not cause the obstruction if this is constipation then also it causes the loop formation and once the constipation relieves then loop disappears, irritable bowel syndrome is more or less functional in origin and not the pure pathology, even this too can not cause the obstruction hope this information helps.
