Hello and welcome ,

After reading to your query i can suspect you are suffering from Acute bronchitis,it is the inflammation or swelling of air passages between nose and lungs . Since you have been suffering from four months with symptoms of yellow mucus from throat and nose, nasal drip, sore throat, cough ,and dry mouth are obvious symptoms of bronchitis.

As you said you are on antibiotics which dint show any results. Bronchitis is VIRAL infection of lungs and commonly associated with smoking, post cold or flu. Antibiotics show results against bacterial infections and not viral so i suggest you to consult a physician soon who will come up with the exact diagnosis and accordingly treatment plan.

Mean time avoid smoking and area of smoke and pollution . take care.

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Mayank Bhargava's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
You are most likely suffering from sinus infection with involvement of tonsils and associated secondary bacterial infection.
Presence of mucus secretion, postnasal drip, swollen glands, sore throat suggests the diagnosis.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist and ENT surgeon simultaneously and should go for thorough check up.
You should take complete antibiotic course, mucolytics, decongestants, multivitamins and anti inflammatory medicines on written prescription.
You should avoid oily and sour food, cold drinks and yogurt.
Perform gargles three times in day; a glass of lukewarm water with a pinch of salt.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
