For What Colposcopy Is Done ?

Hi , i have had about three pap sears done in the past year and a half due to being pregnant and moving around alot. But my most recent one came back abnormal and the doctor wants me to come in and get a colposcopy done. Why does he really want me to get this procedure done? Would he have me get this doen if i had an infection? Would i also have to get this done if the pap smear came back as ASC-US?

Yes you will have to go for colposcopy.
Do not worry unnecessarily. Colposcopy is diagnostic as well as therapeutic technique and you need not be scared of it.
